Hopewell Va Frequencies

About 2 weeks ago I noticed my scanner stopped receiving transmission from Hopewell VA. Can someone help me with getting the radio set back up? I did notice there were some changes on the radio reference site for Hopewell, but im not sure what i need to do. I'm a newby at this. I am using a radio shack pro-197. Thanks

It's been reported on a recent thread that Hopewell PD has started encryption.

I put in the new #s for hopewell for now the only thing i see encrypted is the sherrif office ,

New Hopewell TRS ---PRO96COM info today

Lots of activity today including monitoring/logging some new/reassigned talkgroups. Later I will dedicate a 996XT running PRO96COM for about a week to possibly log more new/reassigned talkgroups.

Below are new/reassigned unencrypted talkgroups logged today during a few hours of monitoring needing ids:

New consolidated talkgroups list needing ids

After running PRO96COM for the past week on the Hopewell TRS below is a consolidated list of previously posted and newly monitored talkgroups needing ids. Some new talkgroups probably are the same “old” talkgroup users with reassigned numbers ranges required by the new software operating system or maybe recommended by the trs installer. Others may be enhancements i.e., additional tac channels, more organizational level entities users, etc. Please post any talkgroup ids to this thread.

TG 10006

TG 10006 may have other occasional uses but today it was used for the city Xmas parade for traffic/crowd control and telling the leading parade float driver to slow down or speed up. It appears that some civilian volunteers were also being used for crowd control. "Traffic" base responded to calls from probably from an auxiliary police individual with a HT..

I have a guess as to why I did not hear any TG 7001 Special Events main or TG 7002 Special Events Tac comms today. Possibly those two talkgroup comms are used only by non-law enforcement city employees and overtime would have had to have been paid.

TG 10012, for all the infrequent comms I have monitored, were limited to auxiliary police performing school arriving and departing traffic control or hazmat situations, i.e., large fire requiring traffic control assistance.

The Hopewell PD dispatch now also is encrypted. I didn't hear any TAC comms yesterday but it is presumed they are.
