Below is from dsd event file but my question is , is it common to see a base and a agent out in the field use the same radio id? This was a back and fourth conversation..

2016/04/14 08:51:17 Group call; TG=1 RID=1 1s
2016/04/14 08:51:22 Group call; TG=1 RID=1 1s
2016/04/14 08:51:25 Group call; TG=1 RID=1 3s
2016/04/14 08:51:30 Group call; TG=1 RID=1 2s

2016/04/14 10:22:44 Group call; TG=1 RID=2217524
2016/04/14 10:22:48 Group call; TG=4095 RID=5

Seems rather common, haven't figured out why tho

Unless the Repeater is programmed to send an RID vs Passing the RID of the user

my apologies, i should have at least put quotation marks around it. i haven't used message boards enough to have ever learned how to do things like a quotation box.

however it nearly could have been a quote from me. i monitor the federal protective service and very often i get :

TGID:4095
RID: 5

which i have determined is the dispatch/central office or something similar, by infering due to one-sided content where there is no encryption.

oh and might as well answer your question too. 410.8 $201 Charlotte NC area.

If you are accessing via the web, then click on the quote button. If you are using Tapatalk, then it depends on the version you are using.

They're equipment defaults. TG 4095 is the default for a Motorola DUI, which is what a Centracom console - among other things - would use to vocode to P25 voice. Once the consoles are upgraded to the MCC series you won't see it anymore as the DUI was phased out. In the case of the MCC "1" should be the default.

Thanks for sharing these details. It helps clear up some things for those of us who are still learning.

(It's good to see you back in the forums.)

Thanks,

I don't think this is happening in your case, but, when systems are patched together, all of the traffic flowing through the ISSI (the patch) from the systems other then the traffic on the local system will have the same radio ID. At least that's my experience. Systems elsewhere may have better technology that retains the RID and passes it along.

These are conventional radio systems in this thread. I think you're over thinking things a bit with the ISSI thought.

DMR is different enough from the old familiar protocols (including P25) that the patch ID suggestion is a valid one.

Actually, I misinterpreted the original post. I thought he was talking about a DMR site, but upon reviewing the thread again, I see that it's about P25.

My bad. Ignore what I said.
