Reception Help > Twin Falls and Idaho Falls

I am looking to listen to fire nets within Idaho falls and Twin Falls. The data base shows that it is mixed UHF and 800. Can someone living in the areas direct me what exactly the fire departments are using in these areas. Can I listen to Idaho Falls from Twin Falls or is that too much of a stretch? My site is above Twin Falls so i have pretty good line of site. Any help would be appreciated.

Idaho Falls fire simulcasts on vhf and 700 MHz P25 Digital. I am quite sure you can not receive IF(either vhf or 700 MHz) from your location, unless your location is at a higher elevation than IF, and then the only chance(slight) would be on vhf with an outside antenna.

Probably the closest transmitter site to you with traffic from eastern Idaho would be East Butte(near Atomic City), but IF does not use E. Butte as a transmitter site. Your probably going to be limited to receiving Twin Falls.
