Clarendon Hills, Willowbrook, & Burr Ridge Transitioning to DuComm

Changes will take effect on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 between the hours
of 9:00 am and 11:30 am as the following will occur:

Willowbrook PD, Burr Ridge PD, and Clarendon Hills PD will be leaving
Southwest Central Dispatch (SWCD) net 9 (476.7375 MHz), and will be
dispatched by DuComm on Police 3 South (Starcom21 #2631)​ sharing this
group with Oak Brook PD & Hinsdale PD.

The new entities will be using the following identifiers:

Clarendon Hills PD: Foxtrot
Burr Ridge PD: Ida
Willowbrook PD: X-ray

Clarendon Hills FD will be simulcast with DuComm Fire South on CHFD's
existing 153.635 fire repeater. They will be joining Lisle-Woodridge FD,
Darien-Woodridge FD, Hinsdale FD, and Warrenville FD on Starcom21 #2702.
Clarendon Hills FD will be using identifier "86."

All phone lines, alarm lines, and administrative issues have been switched,
and they will hopefully have a smooth transition.

This information has been verified with reliable sources.

Makes sense considering the location in reference to other DuCom departments. It's convenient to monitor the DuCom on the Starcom system when I'm out that way.

I am surprised other departments have yet to transition to DuCom...LaGrange, Bolingbrook to name a couple...probably in due time.

DuComm

Bolingbrook is mainly in Will County, and is currently dispatched by Wescom. La Grange is with the Cook County network, along with La Grange Park, and a few other entities. Not totally sure who will ultimately be dispatching those entities as I don't really keep up on Cook County systems.

SWCD

Has Indian Head Park and Countryside PD made the switch to Starcom or are they still using Net 9 476.7375 114.8 PL?

They should still be on SWCD Net 9 at this time. The only entities that "left" this group are Clarendon Hills (FD&PD), Willowbrook PD, & Burr Ridge PD. They are now dispatched by DuComm and have joined Oak Brook and Hinsdale PD's on Ducomm's PD 3 South on Starcom 21, NOT currently encrypted.

I have a reliable source that says that none of the DuComm entities will be encrypted for primary dispatch, however, some surveillance and tactical groups are encrypted, and others may also join this mode.
