New to using Linux OS, but so far I've managed to download and am using fldigi and Gqrx, but I can't manage to get Freescan up and running. I have wine installed and I thought I had Freescan installed but when I click on the icon or try to open it in c drive nothing happens. I don't know If I missed a step or if a command can be run in the terminal to launch it. I'm stuck please help, thanks

Thanks, I'm stuck on step 2 though already.

I guess better late than never. Been off this site for a while. Are you still stuck creating the Wine Prefix? I wrote that Wiki entry and should be able to help. If you're still in trouble what Ubuntu and Wine versions are you using?

you need to set your permission setting on. Go to control Panel>Administrations>User and Groups> and then click on: click on your name, click on groups, Check mark - Dialout- vboxfs, vboxusers, then reboot.

Now wine and virtualbox will see all device you have including usb
