This morning during the morning radio test at 0900, I was picking up North Hudson Regional Fire loud and clear on 154.2950 with a PL of 123.0. I looked through the data base and didn't see anything reflecting what I heard. It's not a repeated channel, I didn't pick up anything of 154.3250 or 154.4450. I know that NHRF received a big grant under port security to hire 4 dispatchers and upgrade their dispatch center, the'll be the dispatch center for the newly formed NJ Marine Fire Boat Task Force.
They are using 170.1500 for receive and 154.4450 for transmit, I don't know the PL tones for them yet.

The Task Force consists of
NHRFR
Hoboken
Edgewater
Secaucuse
kearny
Jersey City
Bayonne
Nerwark
Elizabeth
Linden
Carteret
Linden
Perth Amboy

154.2950 PL123.0 is the new North Hudson Channel 1. 154.325 remains Channel 2. The way it was explained to me, they'll continue to use Channel 2 as primary except when Group/Platoon 2 is working.

Can you confirm the proper name & numbering for all the channels? I'd like to get the DB updated with that info. I also see they have a repeater assignment on 166.250 (the old Bayonne channel). Is that actually being used for that? I don't see a repeater clearance for what's listed on 154.145...

I can confirm the following is correct as of today Scott:
RX 154.295 PL123.0 North Hudson Regional Fire Rescue (Channel 1) - Input Unknown
RX 154.325 PL173.8 North Hudson Regional Fire Rescue (Channel 2) - Input Unknown

It's all under the same license it always has been, KNBY464.

What I can't confirm is which is now primary dispatch, since the way it was explained to me by a member of NHRFR was that Channel 2 is primary, except on days when Group/Platoon 2 is working then they'll use Channel 1.

That sounds strange to me but, either way, they're dispatching on New Channel 1 as of 10mins ago.

Ok, I'll get it updated tomorrow so 154.295 shows as 'Dispatch/Secondary Ops' and 154.325 as 'Primary Ops'.

Those channels are both licensed as 'FB', so they are simplex base/mobile. The HT's they use are 6W XTS5000's, and their mobiles can be heard for miles...

curious they were able to get coordinated for that frequency for local use since the conditions state "This frequency is reserved for assignment to stations in this service for intersystem operations only ....". There are plenty of other licensees nearby that use it for that purpose.

Which one, the new one on 154.295?

NJ Fire Boat Task Force. 166.250 is the receive on the repeater not 170.150 as I stated in my original post.

RX-166.2500 MHz -12.5 kHz - DPL 612.
TX-154.4450 MHz -12.5 kHz

Thanks for the clarification. I'll make these changes this afternoon. Anyone know what the 154.145 channel is actually used for?

1 . The way it was explained to me, they'll continue to use Channel 2 as primary except when Group/Platoon 2 is working.

Why is that group getting this "dispensation"?

Could it be a "day tour/night tour" thing?

Also, is this new Ch.1 simplex?

It should be. They only have a license for repeater operations on the new fire boat ops channel.

Dispatching on Channel 2 right now, which seems consistent with the synopsis I was given since Platoon 2 isn't working. Odd...

What's odd is, what does what Platoon or Group have to do with what frequency they use?

The dispatcher just indicated 166.250 as Ch.5. I am assuming Ch.1-4 are the 154 MHz frequencies? Are they strictly used for Marine services?

The fireboat is part of the North Region Fire and Rescue, so they would have the same frequencies PLUS the marine channels

Ok thanks Justin. That 166.250 was a good catch....I had no record of it until now.

Once the Fire Boat Task Force is officially rolled out and implemented, 166.250 will be for the regional fire boat task force only. Right now, it is channel 5 on the new console.
