Beltzville State Park

Well with the holiday season in full swing frequencies are starting to perk up.

Wednesday was picking off units on 151.3850 PL210.7 it sounded like the were patched from the 800 system.
Beltzville 6 calling Maintenance units and talking most of the day to what sounded like units doing stuff like repairs to ropes etc.. Curious if they will be leaving this patch open or not?

Last year even the employees doing traffic had a 800mhz portable sounded like simplex operations.
The Beltzville Patrol Rangers are DCNR employees and also dispatched on County Police 154.8000 PL127.3 along with Hickory Run Rangers as well.
They used to utilize 151.4450 for with in park operations but not much activity last year.

Curious to see what the summer holds.

Was this VHF identified by name? That frequency/PL combination is not currently listed in the database for the Beltzville area. DCNR has been changing around some repeater inputs or outputs around the state periodically.

caught me off guard as well, not sure what was going on but did not catch them again this weekend. Last year was told everyone at Beltzville switched over to 800 except the Lifeguards were still using the VHF but 151.4450 so guessing maybe they had a link patch up for some reason or another.

The crew were out on boats so maybe instead using the 800 direct they had VHF radios on them and the patch open??

Have a feeling they are using the patch system since the Beltzville Rangers are Police as well since who wants to carry two portable radios they must activate they group when on patrol or maybe out of the vehicle.
