• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey Guys,

I always attempt to get your guy's opinion before selling one of my radios. Today I am going to be posting my APX 6000xe VHF radio for sale on Ebay. It is bluetooth enabled with light use. Only scuffs are on battery and Motorola band at the top. The radio comes with three carry options.

Just looked on the Motorola Swapnet group on Facebook and saw a couple APX6000XE's in VHF going for about $1600 a piece. At least one of those is new in box. I'd say for this radio go for $1200-$1400 - that would be about fair market price. I would also recommend if you have Facebook to join Motorola Swapnet (I can PM you the link) and post it on there before taking it to eBay.

For legit factory unit with good background no less then 2500 to 3500.

I just picked up a legit Factory unit with tags from a dealer for $1700. It was a Model 2.5 with bluetooth. You are way TOO high.

If you were paying list price from Motorola $2500 - $3500 would be about right.

On the used market, anywhere from $1000 to $1500 depending on flashcode, accessories and condition.

Hopefully this question is permissible in this area, but I was wondering what the make is for the carrying device with the 1/2 moon button on it? I have never seen one of these before and am interested. Thanks much.

Thanks for the info and yes I did see the above picture and was interested in one. Unfortunately it looks like they are only available for the XE version, so I guess I'm out of luck for now. Thanks again.

Update: Radio Sold on Monday.

By the way if you own the 6000xe I loved the D-Clip carrier they made that I sold with this radio. I wish the 6000 had something similar.
