X36HP custom welcome screen

Anyone else modified the PROFILE file in on the SD card,,

Just realized we can change the screen that reads

Uniden Bearcat BCD436HP
Digital Trunking
Dynamic Scanning..

I do recommend coping and pasting
a OEM version to the desktop for
easy reversion..

Im sure others have found it, but Ive not
seen it mentioned..

Really _ Can do it via Sentinel (since day 1 infact) .

Can even have different ones with each different profile. Not a big user of profiles, but I have one just for the mobile radio and not mobile on it's opening screen.

I use several different profiles because I have several different scanning situations. I'll put the name of the profile on one of the lines in the opening message.

Astonishing! When your radio is lost, the finder has no way to return it to you. When your radio is stolen and then recovered, it will sit in some PD property room until it's eventually auctioned off. What's so secret about your phone number? Are you as cavalier with your smartphone? It's your choice, but I predict you'll be buying another some time in the future.

I don't get the just of your post, but I get the insinuation.

Never lost a Smartphone, never had a scanner stolen,. If I did and it was recovered there is more of a chance for recovery than not having it.

If I lost my $100 phone I'd lock it and go on. If my scanner is stolen, which I doubt will ever happen - I'll pop another in it's place.

Post a PIC of your start up screen - I choose not to and there
is no point to it in the first place.

feeling a bit disappointed that I post regarding the screen mod & now its
a lil whizzin contest..shake em off & zip up kids...

1 - Who cares if anyone posts/does not post a pic or for what reason.

2 - The only good posts are from OFD8001 & DDANZ

And with that..

Very cool,,I had not even had that cross my mind..
I keep an SD with the Sentinel/RRDB..Updated and
tucked behind the foam in the BATT cover..along with
a backup of the 16G card with my personal build..

Thanks for that input, Im going to label and date the
cards,to see the last update & such..

DDanz is SKOOKUM!...I have my website loaded,,
same as a name & phone..PD will use that contact
info to locate a additional Complainant!..More charges
the better for our sticky fingered friends..

@phask: I don't give a flip what you do. My startup screen has my name and cell phone number. Putting it on the startup screen of a scanner is a lot different than posting it on the web; that, I won't do.

I originally posted to point out mainly to others the drawbacks to your stance. If you choose to spend $500 on a new scanner, I'm sure Uniden thanks you.

Make the welcome screen what you want, go ahead and customize it.

DDanz, I think Phask was saying he didn't want to post a pic of his welcome screen, do you have a major problem with that, I'm not sure where you coming from or going to, with your commentary-statements.

I put my Driver license and a phone number. Gives the police a quick way to contact should it ever be recovered. Started doing that way back with my 396T.
