Yes. Pretty much. The radio knows the difference when receiving.

If you just got it make sure it's at the latest firmware release. I think they only had one, but it was important. It fixed scanning phase 2 and non phase 2 at the same time.

Ok. I remember that now. Never considered that critical, and not sure if I actually updated for that.

If you can hold on that one particular system (gotta have quick fingers :p) The display should alternate from Site Name to System ID. What name is it going by when on hold?

You can then check the MENU.

Under Program System in the Menu, or you don't have the GQK enabled (Function then the GQK when you are on that particular System).

this sounds like what Uniden refers to as a Private System, from the manual:

PRIVATE SYSTEMS
You can flag a system only in the software so that it cannot be read out of the scanner, modifed, or deleted. There are no settings in the scanner to do this. You can still use the system as you would normally (system/channel lockouts/unlock, volume offset, attenuate, etc), you just can’t access it in the menu. Also, you cannot upload the system back to the scanner and have to delete it with the software.

if you programmed the system in software & uploaded, check the software for a flag labelled Private or Protected

just a thought...
