strange, I did a search on FCC database and I found 451.1375 as Mount Hope/Orange County and Mount Kisco, but I don't see 452.5375 licensed to NYCOMCO.

The 451.6000 site seems to be Mt. Ninham in Carmel. I input the frequencies under that same license and notice that the System ID is 79h. Trying to get my 436 to do the logical arrangement with very little success.

451.600 is Mt.Ninham. DSD+ says site: 121-20, DCC: 14, NL: 2 9 15 19. I have not logged another frequency for this site so it may be single frequency. Activity level is low in any event. I will keep DSD+ on 451.6 today and see if any other frequencies show up for this site.

Cool. I did it by call sign. I'm going to throw it in as a separate system and see what happens.

No activity was logged on 451.6 this afternoon. Radioman2001 has seen the transmitter and since there is only one, the site must be single frequency. That agrees with what I had monitored previously.

That repeater originally was for Kent Highway. Kent Highway is now on Onevoice.

NYCOMCO Connect Plus Site 23

Looks like a new site popped up in Rockland. DSD is showing Site 23, control Channel 451.6625. Looks like it might be located at Jackie Jones according to FCC ULS.

OK refering to the temporary sign on the NYCOMCO transmitter at Ninham, it's gone and after a little poking around while escorting Verizon who was fixing a noisy phone line for us it appears that NYCOMCO actually now has microwave link marked "to Mahopac" and it is connected to that transmitter. I noticed on the way up to Ninham today what appeared to be a new microwave dish, so I guess that is who it belongs to.

I have never really understood how a private company can construct facilities on a government tower. I hope they are paying the county for site use.

Here is another wrinkle, I also noticed that the Kent PD transmitter is shut off and the antenna disconnected. The cabinet was marked Kent PD main, what are they using now?

Quid pro quo. The company uses the government site and carries government radio traffic.

What is funny, is Orange County bought that microwave system.

That Turbo system doesn't carry any Govt traffic. As was said before Kent Highway who were testing the system went somewhere else. Only monitoring that site will tell who eventually ends up using it.

Not sure what Orange Co would be doing installing a Mic link that far East, and towards Mahopac. BTW the channels are 900 not higher. Which means they are not an unlicensed operation as some 2.4 g is. Whoever put it in had to license a path.

I see that down in Maryland a lot. Like Dave said, in this case it's a government-used system so it's a little different... but there are a lot of sites where governments own the property and tower, and rent space for cell companies to put in shelters and their own equipment, and even a few where private/corporate entities have equipment co-located in the government shelters. Easy way for the government that owns the site to make rent money without having to really do anything for it.

Well some more Scanning of this "SITE 23" the only talk group that comes up is 20240 sounds like school busses. DSD is showing Ch3,4,5,6 which means they have 2 repeaters at this new site.
