Do we have DMR systems or departments in Las Vegas?

If yes, what are they?

Is the DMR upgrade something to consider for Las Vegas scanners?

If DMR is something we will hear a lot of then I would like to purchase the upgrade at the $50 price.

Since DMR and Scanners is New, your going to
a. Have to wait for others to search, deceipher, determine and then submit them
b. Upgrade and become the first to make many of the submissions

737mech: Thank you for your response. That answered my question. I really don't need or want DMR upgrade for my scanner as I don't listen to Casino housekeeping or security. It would be a waste of my money.

Consider the DMR upgrade as the window is closing at the $50 offer. You may find yourself wanting to sell that scanner someday and there won't be a $50 key available, more like $100 best guess? Could drive down the value of your scanner? Could drive it up? Your call.

Has anyone had any success monitoring the new T-Mobile arena system? I added it to my 436 after I got the DMR upgrade but I'm not hearing any traffic.

Thanks

I haven't tried the Bellagio actually. But, I live way up here by Summerlin so I guess that answers that question. lol.

Thanks for the reply.

Going to Las Vegas in couple of weeks for few days. The 436HP with DMR and TRX-1 will be in my bag. Will be at the New York-New York, just down strip from Bellagio. I always find the security stuff pretty interesting. I can listen to plenty of other stuff here in Los Angeles.

Nice. You'll be right next door to T-Mobile. They show 100 watt transmission. I'll be up the road at Paris. We'll see.....

I programmed the T-Mobile Arena DMR TRS into my HT and can hear it fine here in Summerlin. They're using Color Code 13 and Im hearing activity on TGs 1, 3, 6, 9 and 30. Ive submitted this info and will be monitoring again this weekend during the UFC event.

Years ago when DMR meants DSD and a demod tapped radio, I caught the buses that serve the NTS. I think the above link is the same entity. If they are talking to "bird dog," they are on the NTS.

I still think the Uniden 436 DMR is beta. I need to put more time into this, but I haven't figured out how to monitor a trunked DMR.

When band scanning, the 436 will demod DMR on the fly. This is useful for DMR hunting since that Digital Database link isn't updated often. (I attempted to do my own sqlite3 on the FCC database, and it is not easy. This is because you need to stitch together three FCC databases.)

Note that you may find DMR users not in the database. With Chinese DMR running around $100 plus change, there are unlicensed users. Also there are some itinerant users who use their radios outside their licensed areas. With the notion that DMR can't be scanned (ha!), there are users that skirt the law.

If any of you have some free time the next few days, from March 8-11, T-Mobile Arena is hosting the 2017 PAC-12 Men's Basketball Tournament. I was able to log roughly two dozen talkgroups during last weekends UFC event and this week will for sure be just as busy, if not busier.
