I just got this radio and can't get it to connect. I downloaded the driver and it makes the connect sounds but I don't think the driver is working. Any tips? I have programmed many scanners and radios but having problems getting started with this one.

Are you using the cable made specifically for the MD380 ? Other cables, such as those that fit some Kenwood and Wouxun radios don't work with the MD380. Also, I've noticed that the cable/software/radio can be quite finicky in the order that they are connected and powered up.

One of the local ham radio clubs offers help in programming these CCR's every month on a Saturday morning at the local fire department. See if any of your clubs offer the same assistance.

Like bharvey2 said make sure you're using the tyt cable made for that radio. The one for it doesn't have a chip in the cable, it's a straight through cable as the chip is in the radio. It looks the same as kenwood and all the chinese cables but its different.
