What determines when and how the OES fire apparatus is used? I've seen the equipment housed in CDF and county stations, do they have their own stations?

From that website..."The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) manages a statewide fire and rescue program, providing apparatus on loan to local fire departments for use in their districts, while requiring those departments to staff the vehicles for the state when needed."

If they call, your OES engine and your personnel gotta go. Often they pull OES strike teams first, then additional local engines would form up additional if requested.

And if you make a habit of not being able to respond the apparatus when called, they WILL take them away from you. I've heard of two agencies around Sacramento just in the last year who lost their 'green' engines because they weren't fulfilling the contracted obligations.
