FYI if anyone is interested, Bearcat Warehouse currently has the Whistler TRX-2 on sale for $534.90 with FREE shipping included. To get the FREE shipping just select "Promotional Shipping" during the checkout process. This is the lowest total delivered price (including shipping) that I have seen for the TRX-2 thus far. Note that sales tax is charged to orders shipping to Maryland only. Sales tax is not charged to orders shipping to any other state.

Also that Amazon seller "legamaos" has "Just Launched" so there is no feedback history available. You know what they say about things too good to be true...

totally agree.was looking to buy a couple used scanners off of them and they refuse to sell to customers in Canada.i even offered to pay for shipping and duty and they still said no.no reason was given even when i asked why.i guess they didnt want the business too bad.

Universal is more interested in cats than selling radios. Even when I lived in Ohio I never bought from them. Really surprised they are still in business, but they outlasted AES. Back to scanners I am looking to buy from Amazon but the stock is low and the price is high. I hope they get a shipment in and have a deal before the end of the month while I am still a prime member.

Hello,

I received the TRX-2 from Universal Radio today. I have ordered from them a couple of times over the years without any problems. I noticed they do ship to Canada, except for large antennas, scanners, and some other items.

After a few people raised concerns about doing business with Universal Radio, I checked out some of their online ratings. I didn't know that they have been in business since 1942.

I've ordered from them before with no issues, but I think it was just one order. Of course, if you're in business any length of time you are bound to have a screw up now and then, whether it's your fault or the fault of a shipping carrier, etc. You have to remember that some people, when they are the customer in one of those mess ups, will bark the loudest and most often and make it seem like the company is a failure when the reality is it is a very small percentage, or fraction of a percent, that has ever had issues.

If you pay with a credit card, as most would do in an online order situation, you always have the option to dispute the charges if, for some reason, something in the transaction doesn't happen as it should.

If we all refused to purchase from a retailer that someone on here has complained about I think we'd have empty shacks as there'd be no one left to order from.

With the exception of a possible lightning deal on Amazon, those are some of the lowest prices I have seen for the TRX-2 with FREE shipping included.
