Upon cleaning I have located a mobile police scanner it's a undien bearcat BC25XLT

I don't know that much about scanners didn't even know I had it in with all the new encryption I've been reading about

Does anybody have any idea what frequencies I can pick up with this scanner looks like a trunk tracker 300 channel 12 band radio scanner

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I live in Camden County New Jersey

Thank you

Almost everything around you is digital & trunked. Law enforcement in your county is also encrypted.

There's not much life left in that unit besides ham/marine/aircraft monitoring.

It is a trunking scanner I did mange to get NJ state police according to this site

The frequencys im getting stuff on and most of the ones I'm getting are NJSP I don't understand how to set up the talk groups so I'm not sure where they're at

507.7375 I believe is ems glouc county
461.475
502.6875
501.850

855.9625
857.9875
856.9375
860.9875
859.9875
855.7125
855.4625

I miss back in the day when you could get damn near everything on the scanners including Gloucester Township which was by far the best frequency I listen to

Too bad those days are long behind us

I believe your scanner is the BC235XLT?

Here's who you heard:
507.7375 Gloucester Co Fire and EMS Dispatch
461.475 University of Pa campus escorts
502.6875 SEPTA Transit Police (When they're not busy, they rebroadcast Phila Police J-Band)
501.850 Delaware County Police Sector 7

You could do OK with just the New Jersey State Police. Always busy. One of my favorites.

Delaware County is all analog. Salem County as well. Plus planes (Philly International) trains.
Medevacs and and Media choppers.

Search the database. Use your scanners search function. There is still a lot to put in a analog scanner. (I have a Pro-162) The fun part is hunting it down.

Do they still do FD and EMS paging on 154.430? Accordimg to the db, it is still an active chanel. However, the DB for Camden County seriously needs to be modified and clearly indicate exactly which analog frequencies are still in use at times OR completely deprecated. IE, Voorhees PD still says 155.745, but does NOT say deprecated. Therefore are we to assume that they still use that frequency sometimes? And for what purpose??

Hi bryans118; I'm in Camden County too. Yes, County still pages out fire and EMS on 154.430; following the dispatch the responding agency is given the tg to respond on, on the primary 700 system. It'll sound something like: "3-2, & medic 400, respond on highway ops 1". So you can still listen to county dispatch.
In addition, toss in the VHF backup system. I don't know what part of the county you live in, but you will sometimes hear a dept close by doing car to car, chit chat, & sometimes some more interesting things...
Also put in South Jersey net, SPEN, & the old UHF field comm freqs, which sometimes has some 'interesting' comms ...
I believe that with your scanner, you should also be able to put PSEGs system in(look under the Burlington County db under trunked systems), & you'll hear some cool things - particularly during and after a good storm. Don't forget to put in your towns, and surrounding towns municipal/local govt freqs, - again, can get pretty interesting during and after a storm, year round. I have the media frequencies in, and you'll be able to listen to some of their work, though they primarily use cells, but sometimes I get a lot of activity. And as cru1242 pointed out, medevac, & NJSP-absolutely. ...feds still occasionally heard in the clear (but almost entirely encrypted)
Hope this helps.
