I just formatted and installed a 32GB SD card, hoping it would make the radio really tolerant of me not cleaning out my audio recordings in a timely way.

But I think I'm noticing a slower startup, and the percentages are displayed in increments of 5 instead of 1.

Does anyone else have this experiences with large capacity SD cards? Maybe I should drop to an 8GB.

What do you think?

This is correct. The larger the SD card you put in the scanner, the longer the boot time will be. It needs to essentially check every byte of the SD card at boot to determine the amount of free space available.

Someone suggested PARTITIONING the MicroSD card so that you get the speed of the read/write access, but don't have the initializing from reading the whole darn thing. My TRX-1 uses less than 200MB. I tried a 1GB card but it gives an SD cad error. So just create a 500MB partition and copy the files to that and see how it works.
