1040 blank Conv channel help

I program my 1040 manually, without a PC. I programed in a few frequencies and then wanted to delete some and change them, but now that channel is blank and it automatically my new entry into the next available channel. How can I enter the new frequency into that blank channel so I don't have a bunch of skipped channels. Is this possible?

If you are talking about the object number located in the top left of the screen, then there is no way to modify that number without software.
