If the antenna is mounted in the vertical orientation, and you do not have the antenna elements above the tower, the tower will interact with the antenna.
No matter how high above the tower you put it, the mast or the coax hanging down between elements will interfere and cause pattern problems. That's just the way it is with a vertical beam antenna unless its end mounted.

Even though MACO antennas have been around for many years (I sold them in the mid 1970s) they are one of the most clueless antenna mfrs out there.
