• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have searched with no luck, would like to know if anyone knows of a 2 way radio console made to fit the 2017 Ford Escape? I can find ones for a few years earlier just fine. I hope I'm just not looking in the right place.

Thanks in advance

Hmmm....seeing lots of mounts and poles for the 2017 Escape, but no consoles! Might take a bit of creative engineering!!!

Yea I'm scared to do that, with all the computer stuff and shift/parking brake linkages and such crammed in there.

I was hoping I was just missing where they may be. If it isn't made for the Escape, I am afraid to risk it.

There is no commercially available console for the Curent model escape. There was for the older body style for the pre 2013. Totally different layout of the center console

What type of radio are you trying to mount? We (I say we... it was my coworker that did all the work ) made the control head for a remote mount APX 6500 fit inside the little cubby hole in front of the shifter on a 2017 Escape where I work.

If it's by a chance a remote mountable Motorola radio, you can convert your dash mount mobile to a remote mount with a kit and mount the control head up front, but my coworker told me it was a pain in the rear to make happen. But the finished install looks really nice.

Have you considered a pedestal mount or one of the seat-mounting bolt goosenecks? We just bought a Ford Edge for my wife and mounting options are slim. (For me when we go on trips as she doesn't have the radio bug) Worse yet, the entire roof is glass so antenna options aren't very good. I did do an adjustable hatch/hood mount on the rear hatch with a 5/8 wave antenna that seemed okay for a day trip a few weekends ago. I think you're going to need to get creative and think out of the box as I couldn't find anything in the way of "off the shelf" installation options.
