An the siren app be set up to listen from outside your home? Looking for a direct straight answer, with instructions.

There is no direct straight answer to that one.

The siren app works on wifi.

Just consider what you can do outside your home on wifi and you will have your answer.

The short and direct answer is no. It will only work on your internal network.

The less direct answer is that you can make your local network available from anywhere via a VPN. This requires some networking know-how with proper hardware and/or software.

I don't think you guys even understand what a vpn is. All you looking for is a way to get back into your house. A standard ddns
service will do that for you. I can see my cameras and alarm system from anywhere in the world, and I dint have a vpn for that.. so let's say I'm passed this vpn and I can see devices in my network. There must be ports that need to be forwarded. So that when your request comes in, your router knows that to device to request a street.

It is not simple port forwarding for the audio. The audio is RTSP protocol. You can open all ports to your scanner (DMZ) and it will still not work.

You can make the data/control portion work as it is port 50536 UDP.
