DMR question

I have upgraded my scanner to receive DMR and was monitoring one of the trunking systems and was wondering what the i stands for and then you see the id tag. I'm new to DMR so was wanting to know what that means.

The "i" indicates an individual (radio) ID as opposed to a talkgroup ID.

Thank you for the reply, looks like I'm going to read a lot about the DMR systems so I can learn and understand more and how it works.
