• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Same radio eventually... it doesn’t do phase 2 yet but will be available as an add on later.

We hope...

Also - it was already announced it will be "paid" firmware upgrade (I believe it was said MSRP $150)...

Given they put a price tag on it the Phase 2 upgrade firmware, it seems like even with the delays, it should happen eventually...

Who said $150? The same people who said the Phase 2 upgrade would be available 1.5 years ago?

Unication email direct in September (2017) said $150 (list) and the pager had to go back for the upgrade (might change though).

Beta release anticipated November.

I didn't get that part of the memo -- or an email.

Seriously. I thought it was just a firmware upgrade. Between the never ending delays in getting it released, the cost and now this, this whole P2 upgrade is becoming a nightmare. Hopefully David will weigh in on this sending it back part or the poster will provide a citation for his comment.

Everything nowadays requires licensing fees. I was quoted $1000 extra for Phase II on a Motorola portable. $150 is a bargain.

Phase 2 TDMA is $450 list price.

If you are adding something else along with it, then the higher price would make sense.

I would think a copy/paste from the email would suffice.

It was a string of emails with Unication. Cutting and pasting won't work so well... Email them yourself. I got a reply from them in an hour and a half answering my questions.

I wouldn't believe any cut-and-paste email on an online forum anyways.

Just so everyone knows we have a version of Phase II in Closed Beta with a few select system admins now and everything is looking good we just have to add in a few of the features that we support on Phase 1 and we should be good to release at some point in the near future.
