Programming Freescan i.e. Mode

I am trying to program Freescan prior to my buying the Uniden BCD325p2. In trying to select the Mode. The Mode of a number of BWI Airport frequencies, is not a choice in the software. Is the Mode selection crucial to the frequency?

It shouldn't matter but just leave it "AUTO".

That is what I am doing. I still had to ask. Because I started to wonder if it had something to do with the driver for the 325p2 not being installed.
