While searching for control channels, how do you display the Sysid when the scanner stops on a frequency with an active control channel data stream?

You can't. Only the older models and the 325P2/996P2 will do that.

Really unfortunate omission on Uniden's part with the 436/536 if you ask me...

Well, you can. Program the system using the one control Channel you find. Then use the analyze feature. Kind of a pain in the butt, but it works.

I miss the way it worked on the old models - stop on a CC & immediately get the SysID & WACN if it was a P25 system...

And worst mistake, they never did add the DT Out port so you can use Pro96Com or UniTrunker.. So you will NEVER get all the data on an system. If you have an BCD396/996 XT, or the new BCD325/996 P2 etc... You can feed to those and get proper analysis on P25... At least on DMR you can get 3/4 of the data right you need with the BCD436/536 HP....

The one feature that the old GRE scanners had that was superior, IMO, was the Tune feature. Set a frequency and let it figure out mode (am/fm), CTCSS or DTS, P25 NAC, or trunking data.
