While searching the 851-862 MHz range. I noticed that 856.8375 which was part of the motorola 940f system was displaying CAP in the display where you see P25 /Data/Link on the BCD325P2. I presume that denotes a Motortrbo CAP+ trunked system. There was no information in the scanner manual. Anyone have experience with Mototrbo trunked systems?

Programmed the system as a Mototrbo trunked system with 856.8375 as LCN 1. I am getting several talkgroups. Not sure yet about other LCNs yet. Also the main line on the display shows "ILWSite:0001" while the scanner is on hold on the frequency above.

Searching on the online FCC database 856 .8375 is licensed to MidAmerican Energy so I wonder if they swapped frequencies with Comlelec.

Can you look at the signal with DSD+? Alliant is running a Tier III DMR system. DSD+ will tell you plus other system parameters when listening to the control channel.

I observed 856.8375 in the Quad Cities area in August. DSD showed Cap+ Site 1 Color 3; possibly channel 3/4. Not Alliant. Perhaps someone could go to the WPPW661 MidAmerican site at Bettendorf to confirm if that is it.

Watching it more. I have several talkgroups and a second LCN 854.9125 LCN10 CC3

Talkgroups seen are 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 110, 115

102 might be Standard Forwarding, but is trailer spotting
100 might be Concrete

The MidAmerican Energy licensee location for the 856.8375 is the same as the location for the Motorola TYPE II (930f).

Closest locations for Alliant are at Grand Mound and east of Muscatine.

Correction: 854.9125 is LCN2 CC3
