Every minuet or so I get a short burst of white noise that lasts only 1 second. It's like something is breaking the squelch. Only on one frequency. 155.775 Callaway County Mo sherriff.
Any ideas.
Thanks !!

Is there a very brief chirp at the beginning of the noise? That's a sign that you're listening to an encrypted signal.

First, do you hear any comms on 155.775?
Second, your county is on MOSWIN, the statewide P-25 Phase II digital system.
That could be what you are hearing.

I hear the Sheriffs dispatch and cars talk analog all the time on 155.75.

Looks like they are simulcast with that new P25 Phase II system. Maybe it is encryption, depending how the simulcast is fed to the old analog VHF channel. Maybe it is another agency somewhere. Try using tone squelch if you are not already. RR database shows 203.5 Hz PL.
