What is the difference between the TRX-1 and WS1088 besides the case cover?
Secondly, of more importance; Is there anyway to know what is in the "Library Updates" ?
Thirdly; how long is the straightened paper clip often used when trying to monitor LSM ?
There is a NXDN update for the TRX-1, that is not available for the WS1088. The TRX is also supposed to have a better front end than the 1088, not quite as susceptible to overload, and handling simulcast systems slightly better.
The weekly library updates, for both the Whistler and Uniden memory card scanners, simply accounts for updates to the main RadioReference database in the week since the last update was generated. Since you are a premium subscriber, you can create your "My RR" home page to include the counties and systems of interest to you. Those will show a color when the system (or county) is modified. Sometimes, those changes are insignificant, perhaps a slight wording change. At other times the changes are more consequential, with key information added, modified, or deleted.
I'll let someone who has used the paper clip method to expand on that. Luckily, I have not had to deal with a serious LSM issue on my systems/agencies of interest.
