I work for Fry's, and the stores have recently gotten two-way radios to facilitate communications between the employees.

My store uses this analog FM UHF radio, but I'm pretty sure I've seen Kenwoods at least one other store. I've also seen earpieces that use the coiled hollow plastic tubes at another store. We use a typical wire earpiece at my store.

Our radios have 4 channels programmed into them. We use channel 2, which is 467.8750, with a tone of 107.2 Hz. I'm guessing that the other channels are 467.8500, 467.9000 and 467.9250.
If you shop at or live near a Fry's, and are curious enough, see if you can find what channel and tone that store uses.

I just found another store using 467.8500, with a tone of 100.0 Hz.

Make that two stores. 91st & Olive Aves, as well as 107th and Grand Aves.

Channel 1: 467.8500 (100.0)
Channel 2: 467.8750 (107.2)
Channel 3: 467.9000 (114.8)
Channel 4: 467.9250 (123.0)

I can't find a license for them, however. I've tried searching by name, under both Fry's and Kroger, the parent company, as well as by each frequency.

I'm trying to sell radios to a company using CLS1410s with no license. When I talked to the purchasing person he said "I'm sure Motorola's got our license".
If I had a dollar for each time I've heard that I could retire early.

Obviously caused by the number of Motorola dealers that sell and program radios without assuring that their customers even have a license. I have come across quite a few.
