Whittier will be contracting with the city of Montebello to use their ICIS system in the near future according to a city budget item.

The current system will be end of life within a year.

The price tag to get started is $2 M

The funding request indicated that they will be both digital and encrypted. (Damn, if correct.)

Whittier joining was largely encouraged by ICIS adding additional sites to the Montebello system in Santa Fe Springs and Whittier as part of its current P25 upgrade.

Arcadia is also moving forward in joining ICI, while Baldwin Park is joining Com-Net to use the system to use the system as well.

Interesting due to the fact that the FCC has said they are standing firm on the 1 Jan 2023 deadline to get everyone off T-band.
