I am an electric wheelchair user and just bought a WS1040 scanner. I am wondering what kind of reception problems i may encounter.
Thanks for your answers in advance

I would not think much, if any. Range should be adequate. You might get some electrical noise pickup from your electric motor. This may be minimized by the placement of the radio , for example placing the radio on your chest area, body shielding from the motor area, would cut down noise pickup. Your chair may be of the design that blocks electrical noise. you chair manufacturer can advice you. Some kind of ear piece will help in reception. Road or wind noise would be less.

It all depends on antenna placement. Keep it away from the motor control box and wiring, and interference will be minimized. If it is a problem, snap on ferrites might help.
