The bc75xlt will not work for the ARMER system. Now if you only want to hear the page go out then it will work on the vhf pager frequency used but you will not hear anything other than the initial dispatch on the Ramsey system. I don’t know what you will find around the $100 price point, new scanners with p25 digital are in the $350 plus range. I have seen them under $150 used occasionally but often times they are still over $200 used. The cheapest way I know of to listen to a P25 system via radio is a $20 RTL SDR dongle plugged into a pc running Unitrunker version 2 beta. I swear by the RTL SDR Systems but you will find as many users who swear at the RTL SDRs as there are users who swear by it.

My experience with RTL sticks hasn't been great in simulcast areas, like the metro. But for the cost its worth a shot, and if it doesn't work its still worthwhile for unitrunker.

Woggieee- what towers have you tried RTL with? I run mine full time on 2-001 Hennepin East, 1-009 Minneapolis - both with better results than my 396T, I have had mixed results as of late getting 1-001 Metro Main, 2-002 Hennepin West, and recently I have been getting reception of 2-003 Ramsey which better than I ever recall. I am located North of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Golden Valley Tower.

Stmills, what are some options for scanners that I can get the armer? And is there any way I could use an older Motorola mts2000 flashport?

I don't completely remember since it was awhile ago, but I know for sure I had almost no success with Washington county. I'd assume I tried ramsey and anoka, but I don't remember for sure. When I've been in Hibbing it works pretty good there.

Ramsey County Fire Dispatch

What control channels do you have programmed in and what talkgroups are you trying to hear?

So here's the deal. I am currently able to receive dispatches and radio traffic on vhf analog for Ramsey County fire and for White Bear Lake fire. My digital scanner is silent. No digital traffic at all. I checked the control channels and am able to receive Ramsey law, so I know that part is correct. I feel that the talkgroup info may not be correct. Does anyone know the updated talkgroup info for Ramsey county fire,Whte Bear Lake fire, and St. Paul fire. Thanks.
