everyone on different radio systems who's on what channels lol

And with consolidation of Dispatch Centers has come combined Talkgroups such as Chagrin PD East, Chagrin PD West, Geauga Multi PD Dispatch, Westcom, etc. etc. If you don't program in Radio ID's you are not going to know who is using the Talkgroups.

In the article that JeffB posted I read that the SECC that just opened a year or so ago has broken up. I was aware that Bedford PD was not happy and the FD is now being dispatched by CVD. Is the new facility in Bedford Hts no longer being used?

Really? So they won't be Dispatching by Unit #? Like they have been doing since the 40's or 50's.

Really! Unit numbers are only useful if (A) you happen to catch the Dispatch out at the very beginning of the dispatch, (B) you have memorized all the Unit Number series. (C) you recognize the street location. The Geauga Mutli Pd, as an example, is dispatching 10 different communities. So even if you are lucky to hear the unit number you need a good memory. Further with dozens of now multi community Talkgroups, you are not going to remember them without a cheat sheet. Simple solution is use RID's which on the GRE PSR-800 and now Whistler models more reliably displays the RID on the last line of the LCD. Then again, you already knows this Bud.
