Has anyone else noticed the solid tone after transmissions on East Aurora PD Dispatch? I noticed it about two months ago, but just got curious about it tonight. Its a solid, low pitched, short tone at the end of about 75% of transmissions. Its not specific user specific either. Its audible wether it be dispatch, portables, mobiles. Just wondering what purpose it would serve? A roger beep? I have no idea, and its slightly annoying.

Had a discussion about this with a friend of mine who lived outside East Aurora up on the hill @ 1600'. Apparently their is a hospital that uses 155.640 as a paging frequency in the area and that is the tone you are hearing. This makes sense since it is not always present.

explainable....however....when you do a FCC License Search, nothing comes up for that frequency that would make sense. The closest thing license to EA is Onondaga County or Erie, PA

It is in Canada I believe and with the inversions we get makes it an intermittent signal.
