BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Listening to only the programmed talkgroups

I have a BCD996P2 with both Freescan and Butel XT software and a RR subscription. I have it programmed as I want it, but it opens on talkgroups that are not programmed in.

I want to listen to only the 8 talkgroups in a group.

What setting do I need? Listening to Bradley County TN, have Chattanooga and Bradley sites programmed in. I keep hearing Chattanooga units also.

Make sure the system is set to ID SCAN and not ID SEARCH.

CORRECT!

Push the big knob and hit the "Scan/Searcn" button to toggle the setting.

Thank you.

That worked. Apparently I had 2 systems programmed the same except 1 had search and kept hearing non named ID's.

Thank you very much. I knew I had a setting not right.

Use Search ID mode and the History Log to capture new TG's you don't have programmed. Then look up the unknown TG's to see if you want to add them to your regular listening. You might find something new!

Butel's ARC-XT PRO has a history log when viewing it's Virtual Scanner Control. Not sure if the OP is using the 'PRO' version of ARC-XT.

Bob's ProScan also has a history log.
