BC250D: How to adjust contrast

I haven't used my 250 in awhile but got a new charger for it yesterday, the problem is when I turn it on, I can't see anything, the words on the screen are almost invisible because they are so light. I have to put a flashlight up to the screen to barely see anything. Is there a way to adjust the contrast?

All I see in the owners manual is BACK LIGHT SETTINGS no CONTRAST SETTINGS.
