I have the 2018 Driver Scanner Frequencies and I have a RS Pro-651 handheld.
Do I need tower information, or do I just program in the actual drivers frequency?

Sorry, a little new. I have only programmed regular P25 systems.

It's been a while since I attended a race, but when I'd go, I just programmed in the driver frequencies and it worked fine. I didn't have the race control frequencies back then, but I'd also include them if I was going to a race today (don't know if race control is encrypted or not).

I highly recommend renting a scanner. The channel number is the car number. I have taken my scanner and rented, renting is better imo. But yes, just the driver freq's is all you need.

I found the most interesting freq was the one used by the camera crew from the network televising the race. Somewhere between 450-451.
