• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a vertex standard 7200 P25 mobile radio, I have programmed it for what I need, it works perfectly when transmitting and receiving if your locked on the channel, if it's in scan mode it won't stop on any channels, I've tested it with the murs and weather channels. What setting do I need to change to make the active channels stop in scan mode?
I have the scan bank open and the channels in scan stop mode, what other settings am I missing, I'm not to familiar with Vertex.

There's an option under "common" I can't remember off the top of my head which one it falls under (probably under scanning) but make sure to go to every channel in the cursor menu and enable the scan feature to "b" or "both" and that should do the trick.

Let us know how it works out for you.

I went in and added to scan, I had two choices, dealer or user and then both, I set them all to user and checked the Moni box on all and it still won't pick up while in scan. Do I need to use dealer instead of user ?
Let me change it to both and see what it does

Try experimenting with all 3, make sure it all matches along with the common settings under "scanning"

2. Is the correct PL/DPL programmed into the radio? If the signal is weak, you might need to lower your squelch. Weak signals with PL/DPL enabled sometimes don't break the squelch if it's set too high.

Sorry I haven't replied, we had a tornado here and I've been tied up with that, I have checked all of the settings. I can't attach screenshots to the post, I don't know that much about vertex so if something is off I wouldn't know. It's still not picking up in scan mode which is weird.
What's the H and L under power and the SQ setting, where should they be?
Also clksft and tx, and St TBL?

Scan is set to both and set as user in the menu.
Squelch level under options is 3, SQ on each channel is 0, lockout is set to a line with a bc or bt option.
Flat AF has an N, ST TBL some have a line, some have 1, Power is H and LM, ANI Moni has a check mark.
In miscellaneous ARTS mode is set at TX, there's more if you need it . Does anything look off?
