S&P Nexedge 4800 (System 68)

Hello,

Sites 7, 6 and 3 is Showing Site 9 in its Neighbors list.

I can't seem to find a control channel down here for it, could someone in the Austin area search 451-453 and 454-455 and 461-464 in 12.5 kHz steps and see if they can find it, please.


Also, there is some weirdness in site reporting between Site 7 and all others with regard to Site one. Site 7 says that site 1 is a CN of 822 but all other sites report it as CN 801. Maybe a bad lookup table?

I have been using the following event to Map out the system down here. Not sure if it will help in Austin, but DSD might announce it in the event log.

On a related note, S&P is building out an impressive footprint. Between 303 and 68, most of South TX will have coverage. I am slowly but surely finding new towers and CN's. If they can convince the oilfield proppant haulers to install mobiles for AVL and comms, they will sit on that cash cow for a decade easily.

TG 1 is radio techs, one was talking to "AB Base" about running over to Robstown.

TG 13000, I caught a few transmissions while driving, definitely school buses, heard "Oak Run" which could be Schertz or New Braunfels. I heard another street about a red light runner but was driving and couldn't remember later.

There's definitely an Oak Run school in New Braunfels, Highway 46 West.

TG#50000 might be a recently disapeared S&P LTR TG ?

Community Thrift Store (located at 1047 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214 (210) 924-6669)

They have a fleet of 4-5 box trucks for Charity Donation Pickups representing DAV & American Vets etc.
Take notes on the truck numbers and report back and I'll compare them to my notes from my onsite trip.
I recall dispatchers are usually 2 ladies and all their drivers are male. They would also do Saturday runs.

I have only seen 1 Encrypted Call on System #303 but this is my 1st time seeing one on System 68.
LQQking at my DSD+ Event Log, you would think maybe this UNID Towing Co has a 2nd TG #39001 ?
Has anyone else seen an Encrypted Group Call before on S&P NEXEDGE Central Texas System 68 ?

Gone are the days this same LTR had TG 02-191 Bexar Towing & TG 02-201 Interstate Adjusters Repo !

I was able to ID several more control channels for Austin, Georgetown, Belton and Waco today on my way to OK. Getting the actual Nexedge channel numbers for the frequencies should help users get started toward catching some traffic and nailing down the last few voice freqs per site. Be sure and check the database page as I updated quite a bit.

Funny thing with the Belton site (10): It identifies Georgetown and Austin as two of it's three peers but with radically different control channel neighbors than what the actual sites are reporting and using.

Just another oddity that makes you scratch your head with these NX4800 systems.

The Pleasanton site is only using one voice channel that changes as the CC rotates. I see a lot of voice call rejections on DSD+ but sometimes hear the CC that is being monitored break off to allow voice traffic. I wasn’t aware that Nexedge systems could do that, if that is in fact what is happening.

I logged 24 different TG's this week just on the Downtown Site#5 alone which I am focusing my efforts on lately.
In the near future I will be busting out many more RRDB TG's submissions. We are only at the half way mark now.
This NXDN System 68 has surpassed the Industrial Communications Passport TRS in both TG count & TG activity !
