This system is listed on Radio Reference as a P25 phase 1 system with sites in Orange, Seminole among others but only lists Lake County Talkgroups? Does anyone have any info on this system?

Regional Domestic Security Task Force. Primary use is Lake County but several counties have sites as another “tool in the toolbox.” Think of maybe a high profile escort from Broward to Martin and being able to stay on one talkgroup.

I should add that other than Lake County, the build out part is NOT to be used for daily use. Permission has to be granted in advance from Lake County to come up on one of the interop talkgroups. So unless it’s a pre-planned event, you’re not going to hear much.

Okay, so let’s lay down some figurative stepping stones regarding system 292:

• The proper name of this system is “Public Safety Interoperable Communications Network” (PSIC).
• This was Motorola’s initial concept for SLERS and will be the foundation for anything else they bring to the table under the SLERS title.
• Currently Lake County is the biggest primary user followed by Orange, Broward, Palm Beach, and occasionally Seminole.
• The current purpose of the 700MHz overlay is to provide trunked interoperability throughout the entire state. This has only been achieved at certain locations based upon lack of funding and lack of state governmental support.

A year ago there was a full talkgroup map floating around RR that showed all of the actual talkgroups for the individual counties.

To provide some more accurate information as a number of your bullets are not correct. I will address them in the same order as listed:

• The proper name of this system is “Public Safety Interoperable Communications Network” (PSIC). It isn't a "system" per se, but it does utilize the Lake County core for call processing which is why it utilizes System ID 292.
• This was Motorola’s initial concept for SLERS and will be the foundation for anything else they bring to the table under the SLERS title. This is incorrect and the PSIC overlay was envisioned by the RDSTF Region 5 and was initially funded using Federal PSIC grants. This was never a SLERS project and the State has never had any management of this whatsoever. Lake County is and will continue to be the system admin.
• Currently Lake County is the biggest primary user followed by Orange, Broward, Palm Beach, and occasionally Seminole. There are no "primary users" of PSIC. The availability is "as-needed" for the participating agencies.
• The current purpose of the 700MHz overlay is to provide trunked interoperability throughout the entire state. This has only been achieved at certain locations based upon lack of funding and lack of state governmental support. This is a phased deployment that is purchased with Domestic Security Funding. Since the initial deployment, that started in Martin County and went north to Lake, the deployment has been approximately 2 counties a year.

Last week when I was updating the programming in my BCD996T I stuck this in and tried scanning it over the week. Using a back of set antenna inside my house I wasn't able to pick up any associated signals.

I'll try again when I'm mobile in the western part of Volusia county.

I want to say that some of the Counties that are connected to the Core and just using it for an interop overlay are only running one site in the center of the County. The signal I get in Palm Beach on this system vs the County’s new P25 system shows the difference is signal quality.

Didn't want to start a new thread, I heard something on this yesterday on the West Palm Beach frequencies on an unknown TG. The conversation related to the Lake Worth turnpike toll plaza, although I didn't hear enough of the conversation to tell exactly what was going on.

Have only heard one transmission on the St Johns Co site, that was several years ago, concerned radio checks.

There is brief occasional traffic I've heard on the Broward site, the transmissions are typically vague & short. Nothing really to discern, but it is working.
