• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Good Evening All! I've reached out to a couple of members directly but wanted to see if anyone on the list might be able to assist. I just received my Unication G4 and before purchasing had seen a post or two of people willing to share their unipps files with Columbus related info. Just wondering if anyone has one they wouldn't mind sharing. I've started to create my own but it's always helpful if you don't have to reinvent the wheel...especially if it's a better wheel than I can build being new to Unication programming. I'd appreciate any assistance anyone can offer. Thanks!

Anyone willing to PM their Columbus, Ohio programming file to me as well? I haven't been able to get my G5 to successfully receive any of Columbus Fire's traffic. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've programmed the radio for Youngstown/Mahoning County and other areas with no problems. Thanks in advance!

Are you attempting to receive Columbus in Youngstown, or while you are near Columbus? Columbus uses the Columbus City Site, not the Columbus MARCS Site.

I am looking for a working copy of someone's programming for Columbus (mainly fire) so that I can listen when I am in Columbus. The past 3-4 times I've been there, I've been unsuccessful in getting the programming correct for my G5. I have had no problem programming and monitoring Youngstown, Cincinnati, Cleveland, OSP Marcs-IP, Lee County FL and other P25 systems. I just can't figure out what I'm missing for Columbus. I'm using the Columbus City tower control frequency 859.2125 and I also have the alternates in 851.4125, 851.6625, 853.0375. Group IDs are 57xxx as listed on RR. I get down there and I get a full bar tower signal but I get no audio, no stopping on any channels.

Try putting in Franklin County Tower Control Channels as well as Columbus City

Make sure your Site ID is A (HEX). Columbus Fire does not use the Franklin County Sites. All fire departments in the county use the Columbus City Site. PM sent.
