The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey All

Just finished programming my XPR 5550 and having some difficulties. Tried to do some internet digging but only seeing people with the same issues but no reslove.

On a couple different sites using the same TG, I see transmissions happening and radio IDs but not hearing any audio. Can someone clarify my programming is done correctly? Do I need to have a Channel Pool set up? Is this an RSSI issue or Admit criteria issue? I know CCs and TS's are correct.

Thanks!

Under "General Settings", what is your radio id? Some will leave their radio id to the default of "1". Radios with the same id will not pass audio.

Nope. All 6 of my DMR radios talk to each other using the same ID number.

That's curious because on our IPSC system that's a trick we use for backup radios in dispatch. We give the backup mobile the same radio id as the console's control station and when the dispatcher keys the console the audio doesn't come across the backup mobile. The talkgroup id shows but no audio comes across. Of course the CAI network has to be the same....

Same ID numbers will work on conventional digital simplex or repeater channels but on any of the other advanced system types(IPSC, Cap+, etc), it is as you say: a receive radio with the same ID as the transmitting radio does not unmute and pass audio.
