Looks like the production models have a more matt black shell.

Yes and should even gain more stability when I receive the extended battery/door.

Jason thanks so much for the first impression thread and your input I am really jazzed that the finish is a matte black instead of gloss. More subtle, very classy. Looks good! I will be watching this thread closely and with mucho anxiety haha

Uniden direct for my testing and the one I get to keep. It's a Pilot Production Unit.

I'll be packing my BETA2 Unit up and sending it back Monday.

I'm sure there will be after-market cases for the SDS100. I just hope someone makes one like the hard leather case for the 436. That is an awesome leather case.

Does anyone know of a pic of the SDS100 with the extended battery door attached? I would like to see how much of a difference it makes in the lower body size.
