I have one of the orginal BCD436HP scanners that is missing the capacitor that affects reception. And on top of that, my keyboard is well worn out and some keys are not even readable. Does anyone know if I were to send my radio to Uniden, will they replace the keyboard and fix the capacitor issue with one repair? It stinks because I already had my radio in their shop a few years back for the clock issue and now I'm going to have to pay for the capacitor... But I want to make sure before I send it off to support. Thanks!

Make a laundry list and they will fix it all. If you complain about UHF reception they will install the capacitor for free. You'll be charged for the keypad though.

I appreciate the response. I’ve had to tape that special foil inside my battery cover to help but I know it’s still not really a fix. Thanks!!
