SDS100/SDS200: Battery Life

I pre ordered my SDS100 from Scanner Master,I received it yesterday included with the package was a
"Important Notice ! After final design,we found that the battery life with the included battery did not meet our expectations for run time. So we are changing our design to a bigger battery that last 8 hours.When this battery is ready, we will send you one , at no cost to you.Simply register you scanner."

I've check this forum and found no mention of this problem?

Thanks, I did not see that notice on my battery, but only get 5 hours now.

Hey guys, Uniden attached a note to the scanners that the battery life is poor and they will manufacture and send new battery to people who registered scanners. Does anyone have any information when this will happen?

I just read that new production units arrived for shipment today with the new battery and door, so I would think pretty soon on that.

Would there be a way to tell if a scanner has the "new" or "old" battery?

I ordered a SDS 100 today from Bearcat Warehouse and was wondering what to expect.

I do plan to register it, but I can see hiccups in e-mails if I got the "old" version, etc.
