I have a Kenwood TM-D710GA that I had no probems getting to the transmitter to program but now I'm getting a new vehicle and the transmitter may be put in a hard to reach spot to plug in the progrmming cable.

How have others handled this issue (if it has been encountered) or is there going to be any issues if I leave the programming cable attached full time and was going to install a remote USB port to plug into on my dash for it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

There should be no issues with leaving the programming cable plugged in all the time. If it happens to pick up some RF when the radio is transmitting, looping the cable through a ferrite bead might help.
