I am trying to set up a scanner for a friend in Madera county... I live in ohio..she tell me that the state police usually handles calls in her area of Coarsegold Calif....can anyone help me decide what frequencies I need to load up... I see freqs for the sheriff and fire...any advice???

I imagine that the Madera Co. Sheriff handles crime calls and CHP handles traffic accidents. CalFire would be the fire agency. You can find the frequencies here: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=202

I love that area. We used to go through Coarsegold/Oakhurst every summer on the way to Yosemite.

The ChP office in Oakhurst handles the area along Hwy 41. The area units starting with the number 57 and are on 45.94 FM.

CHP dispatch for that area is out of Merced so use that freq. for Madera County.
