I just heard through the grapevine that HASTE is now on the trunked system. Each hospital should have their own talk group.

Confirmed. I work in an ED in Philly and you can hear the difference from the old two-tone VHF low system.

Fyi heard on good authority haste groups going encrypt once intial test period is over figure 30 to 45 days.
Not surprised at all given the personal nature of HASTE comms.
Why, do they transmit any personal identifiable information about the patient to be in violation with HIPAA?
Just heard an unencrypted HASTE notification to Temple ER on talkgroup hex 0DF. No personal identifying information, just the same patient descriptions you would normally hear on the medic bands.

Even if they do indeed encrypt the HASTE groups they still can't use personal identifying info as it would be a HIPPA violation. Anyone in ear shot of the HASTE radio at the hospital would be able to hear such info and do whatever they want with it. There seems to be a trend to encrypt hospital notification talkgroups all over but it really makes no difference if the hospital has the radio in a location where anyone can hear it.
