I am interested in observations/suggestions on this one please:
Having setup a number of NXDN One freq systems, my perception was that my 436's were missing several transmissions/had late entry into those transmissions. So I set up some testing with my Kenwood NX portable.
One 436 was setup with the frequency programmed as conventional, the other 436 with the same channel as NXDN One Freq.
- For NXDN9600 signals there was little to no difference in performance between One Freq and Conventional
- For NXDN4800, the NXDN One Freq System performed considerably worse: the signal bars on the 436 would illuminate simultaneously, but it took several seconds (2-3 maybe) to open squelch.
The same results were achieved when I swapped over the roles of two 436's to eliminate any specific hardware issues. Modulation in all cases was FM, P25 Waiting time of 100ms, Threshold mode set as Auto. Also, same results using Firmware BCDx36HP v1.23.00 and BCDx36HP v1.24.00
Anyone have similar results/observations?
