BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Question on the power key/button

Hello- I purchased a BCD436HP recently & I am really enjoying it!

My question is I noticed my power/light key/button sets lower then the other keys on the keypad. It is also more difficult to push while the other keys are much easier to push. Is this a normal safety feature or is my keypad defective?
Hoping it normal for this scanner but can't find an answer anywhere on this.

Yes, this is normal. I think it is a design feature to make it a little more difficult to inadvertently turn the radio on or off.

Ok great! Thank you - I sure didn't want to have to send it off for repairs after having just purchased it.

Well, what do ya know? I've had my 436 for 4 years and I never noticed that. I didn't always turn it on but I always had it somewhere close by. You learn something new every day.

its not more "difficult" to push...its just at a different height than the others...prob so you dont turn off your scanner by mistake

Since you have to hold the button down to turn it off or on, it's more likely that they designed it that way to keep from accidentally turning the light on.
